这种新鲜的口感在英文中就是fresh(新鲜的)
Sushi always requires fresh fish.
制作寿司往往需要新鲜鱼肉。
那生鱼片,“生的”在英语里的说法是raw:
Sushi is made from raw fish as well as vegetables, seaweed and rice.
寿司由生鱼、蔬菜、海草和米饭做成。
与上面的词语相反的就是off(不新鲜的):
I'm afraid this cheese tastes off.
我觉得这块奶酪不新鲜。
食物放久了就烂掉了。这时候就是rotten(腐烂的,坏的):
This meat smells rotten. I think we should throw it away.
这块肉坏了,我觉得我们应该扔掉它。
火候不足,牛排就煮不熟,这就是undercooked(未煮熟的):
The undercooked fish was very poor.
没煮熟的鱼口感欠佳。
形容作物与水果,还未熟的,是unripe:
Many types of fruit are picked unripe and become ripe as they are shipped.
许多水果都是在还未成熟时被摘下,随后在运送过程中成熟。
与unripe相反的必然就是去掉否定前缀un-后的ripe(熟的):
Make sure the bananas are ripe so I can use them in the cake.
确保香蕉熟了,这样我就可以用它们做蛋糕。
煎出来的牛排就鲜嫩多汁,就是tender(嫩的):
The lamb was so tender that it seemed to melt in my mouth.
羊肉嫩得像是入口即融。
如果牛排又黑又焦,那就是overcooked(煮得过熟的,老的):
The broccoli was overcooked. It should have been crisper.
西蓝花煮久了。本该更脆一点。
吃焦黑的牛排我们可以用tough(硬的)来形容:
The steak was very tough. I could hardly chew it!
这块牛排太硬了!我都咬不动了!
